New J1 show “Michiasa Music” starts Monday 3/1, weekend special 2/27~28

J1 presents a new music “sub-format” within the J1 programming day.  The new show “Michiasa Music” will air during the Japanese morning period Monday-Friday from 8AM to 10AM JST (Sunday-Thursday 3PM-5PM PST/4PM-6PM PDT).  In this two-hour period, J1 will present music from a 1,200 song playlist.  The songs chosen were handpicked by J1’s director Michiko Ota as the more upbeat, cute and fresh sound from the past decade.

“Michiasa Music” is the precursor to the future live music and talk show “The Michiasa Show” which is expected to start airing in the same time slot this year.  The music from the playlist will be the primary music used on the live show.

This weekend, February 27 & 28, in lieu of the Hardcore J Retro Weekend, J1 will present the “Michiasa Music Matsuri”, an entire weekend of music from the playlist.

J1 welcomes you to start your morning or end your day (wherever you are) with a different mix of Japanese popular music.
